Anthony Daniel Ngoya is an artist based between the Netherlands and Belgium. He graduated with a Master’s degree in Painting from ENSAV La Cambre, Brussels. He previously completed a Bachelor’s degree in Painting at ENSAV La Cambre, after studying Fine Arts at ENSA Limoges, France.
His research focuses on speculative archives, exploring alternative ways of documenting, embodying, and narrating history. Rather than adhering to fixed archival structures, he is interested in fluid systems that incorporate fiction and storytelling as methods of historical inquiry.
Through archival footage, photography, textiles, painting, printing, and installation, Ngoya examines how histories are constructed, mediated, and at times obscured. These processes connect intimate memory with broader historical narratives.
Approaching archival materials through material intuition, he treats images and objects not as static records but as active carriers of memory, capable of generating new meanings through their relationships to one another. His works move between personal recollection and historical record, opening spaces where memory, fiction, and history intersect.
